This goes back to when the chain-smoking Italian was in charge of Napoli, prior to taking over at Stamford Bridge in the summer
Maurizio Sarri has spent a quarter of his life with a cigarette in his mouth apparently.
The Chelsea manager is known for his fondness for a ciggie and one opposing team, when in charge of Napoli, even designed his own smoking room for him.
RB Leipzig installed the area inside his side’s changing room for a Europa League game in February.
Sarri spends a lot of his free time smoking
He has since left Italy for the Premier League where he has enjoyed a winning start to life in England. In fact, he hasn’t lost a league game since 29 April when Napoli were beaten away at Fiorentina.
And Dream Team think they’ve worked it how many fags he has puffed on since then.
If a pack of cigarettes costs £11.50, the Neapolitan smokes £46.00 of his lucrative salary every day – that’s £1,400 every month.
Sarri last lost a league game in April and Dream Team reckon he has made his way through 12,000 fags since then
So to give it a more unhealthy context, since Sarri last lost a league match – more than 150 days ago – he has made his way through a staggering 12,000 ciggies.
They also estimate that, if the manager is awake for 16 hours a day, then the 59-year-old smokes every 12 minutes.
