Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier will all miss the Group B clash at the San Siro
Tottenham get their 2018/19 Champions League campaign underway at Inter Milan on Tuesday – but they will be without FOUR key players for the clash.
The club have announced that France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will miss out with a thigh injury and Dele Alli with a hamstring strain, while defenders Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld have not travelled to Italy despite being fit.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino told the press on Monday: “For a technical decision, Kieran Tripper and Toby Alderweireld are there [in London] too.”
Inter Milan vs Tottenham is LIVE on talkSPORT from 5.55pm on Tuesday
Asked if Tripper and Alderweireld were injured, Pochettino said: “It was a technical decision. You can find it in the dictionary, technical decision. Maybe tactical also on the pitch, yes, it’s tactical too.
“But it’s a technical decision. You cannot bring 25 players and can only play 11 and seven on the bench. That is the reason.”
The pressure is on the north Londoners to deliver a result after two consecutive Premier League defeats against Watford and Liverpool.
They face a resurgent Inter Milan side who are playing their first game in the Champions League since the 2011/12 season.
Here is how talkSPORT.com expects Spurs to line-up without the missing quartet:
Tottenham XI: Vorm; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose; Dier, Dembele; Moura, Eriksen, Son; Kane.
