Chelsea vs Newcastle

Newcastle United travel to Chelsea in Saturday’s late kick-off.

The Magpies currently sit 15th in the league but are dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Newcastle have not won any of their last four league games and as a result are just two points away from dropping into the relegation zone.

So, a win, or at least a point, is vital to Rafa Benitez’s side on Saturday.

Chelsea head into the game 4th in the league and having lost just one of their last five league games.

However, the Blues would lose to Tottenham earlier this week in a League Cup tie.

Heading into the game Maurizio Sarri is without Ruben Loftus-Cheek but is expected to have Alvaro Morata available.

“Of course, Loftus-Cheek is out at the moment. Yesterday Alvaro had training with his team-mates. I hope that he will be able to play”

Newcastle injury update

Newcastle United will also have a couple of players doubtful through injury as they prepare to face Chelsea.

Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark have been passed fit for Saturday’s game.

But the duo of Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett are ruled out after spending the week in Barcelona receiving treatment.

Karl Darlow will also be ruled out vs Chelsea while Kenedy is ineligible due to Chelsea being his parent club.
