Man United’s Marcos Rojo vs Arsenal
Marcos Rojo had a more than eventual game for Man United against Arsenal.
The Argentine defender made his first appearance of the season in the 2-2 draw against the Gunners.
However will Rojo be back in the team anytime soon?
The South American scored an own goal to hand Arsenal a 2-1 lead at Old Trafford.
Rojo was eventually subbed out the game in the 71st minute.
But should the Man United defender have been sent off beforehand?
Marcos Rojo vs Matteo Guendouzi
Rojo was booked in the 38th minute.
The booking came about after Man United attacked the Arsenal goal from a set-play.
Marcus Rashford fed the ball to Rojo just outside the Gunners area, however the defender’s shot was charged down by the visitors.
But Arsenal didn’t manage to clear their lines originally.
Instead the ball rebounded into the area, where Rojo lunged in on Matteo Guendouzi.
Rojo threw Guendouzi up in the air with his dangerous sliding tackle.
Referee Andre Marriner cautioned Rojo for his poor tackle.
Marcos Rojo vs Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Should Rojo have been sent off before the break?
The Man United defender has been accused of committing a professional foul on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 43rd minute.
After a coming together between Rojo and Aubameyang, the Arsenal striker tried to get back on his feet.
But Rojo stopped him doing that.
TV replays revealed how Rojo had both his hands around Aubameyang’s leg to prevent the Arsenal attacker from rejoining the play.
It was a cynical act from Rojo, who could easily have been booked for behaviour.
