Everton boss Marco Silva has given an update on their pursuit of Andre Gomes amid suggestions Tottenham have moved to sign the midfielder.

Gomes has been such a shrewd loan signing for Everton.

The Portuguese midfielder was out of favour at Barcelona when the Toffees moved to sign him on loan as well as Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne in permanent deals.

Now, he’s enjoying football again with Everton.

Gomes has been pivotal in Marco Silva’s new system at the Toffees and has impressed fans.

As a result, Everton are now looking to sign Gomes but they aren’t the only ones.

According to a new report on Friday, Tottenham are closing in on signing him.

Inter Milan and AS Roma have also been linked with moves recently.

Now, Marco Silva has given an update on Everton’s pursuit of Gomes.

“He hasn’t decided anything about his future, his agent also”

Speaking ahead of Everton’s clash with Tottenham this weekend, Silva explained that Gomes is yet to make a decision on his future.

“The only feedback I’ve had until now is from Andre and what he’s said to me, because our relationship has been really honest since the first day,” Silva explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo. 

“He hasn’t decided anything about his future, his agent also. That’s what I can say to you.

“We’ve already talked about not just him but Zouma also, and now it’s up to us to show that ambition.”

The reports linking Spurs with a move for Gomes continue to grow.
