Leicester fans have ‘Puel Out’ signs confiscated vs Southampton

Photos have emerged online of a group of Leicester City supporters being deprived of signs calling for Claude Puel to be sacked.

The Foxes welcomed Southampton to the King Power Stadium for a 3pm Premier League kick-off this afternoon, with Puel’s men having coming into proceedings on a somewhat baffling run of form.

After securing a shock pair of victories over Chelsea and Manchester City late last month, Leicester subsequently fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to relegation candidates Cardiff City.

However,  the 2015/16 Premier League champions bounced back in impressive fashion on New Year’s Day, when they picked up 3 points at Everton.

But, in typical Leicester fashion, the Foxes followed their latest victory with an embarrassing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newport County last weekend, in the process crashing out of the FA Cup.

The manner of Leicester’s exit from the FA Cup saw large sections of the club’s fans take aim at manager Claude Puel, after the French tactician opted for a heavily-weakened starting XI at Rodney Parade.

Puel made 7 changes to the side that picked up a victory at Everton in his side’s previous outing, with the likes of James Maddison and Demarai Gray benched and Jamie Vardy not even included in Leicester’s matchday squad.

As such, despite the Foxes having sat comfortably in 7th-place in the Premier League table before today, sections of the club’s fanbase nevertheless made the decision to carry their protests to the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

As showcased below, a number of Foxes’ supporters arrived for their side’s clash with Southampton equipped with ‘Puel Out’ signs.

However, the individuals in question quickly saw their efforts shut down by the King Power stewards:
