Leeds willing to spend £25m on Nandez
Various news outlets have this week been reporting that Leeds are set to make an audacious bid for Boca Juniors star, Nahitan Nandez.
According to Ovacion, Leeds are willing to pay upwards of £25m to land Nandez.
The midfielder is said to have a release clause somewhere in the region of £12m.
Leeds may also face competition from several Serie A clubs for Nandez including Fiorentina and Cagliari.
The 23-year-old moved to Boca Juniors in 2017 for a fee of around £3m.
Since then, Nandez has gone on to make 48 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored six and assisted four.
Leeds’ promotion push
However, Leeds landing Nandez in the summer may well hinge on them being promoted to the Premier League.
After several years of struggle, Leeds finally look to have found a manager to lead them back to the glory days.
In his first season in Yorkshire, Marcelo Bielsa has completely transformed Leeds United.
With just eight games of the Championship season left to play, Leeds sit 3rd in the table, one point off an automatic promotion spot.
Even if they fail to win automatic promotion though, they do look the best side out of the current four playoff contenders.
Leeds’ first game back after the international break is a relatively easy fixture.
They are at home to 20th place Millwall who have won just one of their last five league outings.
