The Reds boss will face his predecessor in the dugout for the first time in an upcoming charity game against Celtic in Glasgow
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he ‘has a lot to talk about’ with Brendan Rodgers, as the managers prepare to meet for the first time since the German’s appointment at Anfield.
Klopp and Rodgers will come face-to-face on the touchline this weekend for a charity match at Celtic Park, as two star-studded teams led by Stiliyan Petrov and James Milner take on each other in ‘A Match for Cancer’.
A host of top stars from the past and present are due to play, including John Terry, Jermain Defoe, Henrik Larsson, Scott Brown, John Arne Riise, Luis Garcia, Dirk Kuyt, John Hartson and Robbie Keane.
The game will also represent the first time the two managers have met in the opposing dugout since Klopp replaced Rodgers as Reds boss.
And it seems Klopp has a few questions for his predecessor.
From a Liverpool fan’s point of view, the list would be a fairly long one – Dumping Steven Gerrard? Signing Christian Benteke for £32m? That jumper and suit combo? What were you thinking, Brendan?!
But it appears Klopp is thinking a little closer to home… as he sent a hilarious message to his ‘landlord’ on YouTube.
After taking over at Liverpool in October 2015, Klopp moved into a house in nearby Formby which is owned by Rodgers – a property the Northern Irishman had previously bought from club legend Gerrard.
And in a video message ahead of the match, Klopp joked that he has a lot of questions for the Celtic boss.
The Reds boss teased: “We have a lot to talk about…
“The plumbing, the electricity, the pool – Brendan, hopefully we can sort a few things!”
