The Blues completed the loan signing of Gonzalo Higuain on Wednesday night but there are still a number of loose ends to tie up before deadline day
Chelsea made a huge breakthrough in the transfer market after securing the loan signing of Gonzalo Higuain on Wednesday night.
The Argentina international will team up with Maurizio Sarri again, after the pair were together at Napoli in the 2015/16 season.
However, there are still a few more potential comings and goings at Stamford Bridge before the deadline on January 31.
Below you can see a round-up of the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip.
Morata clear to join Atletico Madrid
Not many will be more happy to see Higuain join the Blues than Alvaro Morata as this clears the path for the Spaniard to end his nightmare in England.
Since signing for Chelsea in the summer of 2017, Morata has been a shadow of his former self but the striker has reportedly had plenty of options.
And it looks like Morata will join LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid as he has flown to Spain to complete his move, according to Goal.com.
Paredes to snub Chelsea for Paris
After letting Cesc Fabregas join Monaco earlier this month, Sarri is desperate to recruit a defensive midfielder to fill the void.
Zenit St Petersburg man Leandro Paredes looked to be the one to replace Fabregas but the latest news does not look good for Chelsea.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain may well have nabbed the Argentine with L’Equipe claiming a deal has already been wrapped up for him.
Hazard future remains unclear
A potential Eden Hazard departure has been awkwardly hovering on the minds of all Chelsea fans and the latest news will do nothing to reduce their fears.
The Belgian will stay until the end of the season at least but Sarri has said he’s still not sure where his future lies amid the constant speculation he will move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool make shock move for Hudson-Odoi
Another major transfer saga at Stamford Bridge involves promising Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich this window.
However, Premier League rivals Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with the 18-year-old with the Reds reportedly meeting with Hudson-Odoi’s brother, who is also his agent early in January.
