The Uruguayan defender has secured his future in Spain until 2021
Diego Godin has reportedly agreed a new contract with Atletico Madrid.
The 32-year-old defender was the subject of last-minute transfer interest from Manchester United on the UK deadline day last Thursday, but he rejected their advances in favour of his current club.

As a result, they have extended his deal, which was set to expire in 2019, and he will now stay at Atleti until 2021, according to Marca.
Godin was recently installed as the side’s captain, following the departure of Gabi.
He has been at the club for eight years and is a two-time Champions League runner-up.
