Not happy with playing at Wembley
Tottenham defender Danny Rose has revealed that he really doesn’t like playing at Wembley as the club wait to move into their new stadium.
It’s been a long time coming for Spurs but they are closing in on leaving Wembley and settling in at their new home.
There has been some crazy bumps in the road with several setbacks and issues during the past 12 months or so.
Spurs found it incredibly difficult to play at Wembley for most of last season but have started to get it right this campaign.
Though, because of all the games at the national stadium, one Tottenham defender feels the place has lost its magic.
“It’s just not nice any more”
That is because Danny Rose has claimed that it’s ‘just not nice any more’ to play at the famous ground.
Not only that, he feels it doesn’t feel like an honour to play there after playing at Wembley for so long.
“It’s just not nice any more,” Rose explained in an interview with the Guardian.
“It’s lost its… I don’t feel it’s an honour to play at Wembley. We’re all itching to get in the new stadium and hopefully it’s not too much longer.
“We’re disappointed it’s taken longer than expected but we know everybody is putting in the hours to make sure the stadium is as good as possible.
“It’s not that much longer now, so hopefully, over the next couple of months, we’re going to be in there.
“What’s Wembley lost? The atmosphere is a bit flat.
“I obviously sympathise with the fans, travelling further to come to Wembley, but Wednesday was the lowest attendance since we’ve been at Wembley. That speaks volumes.”
