Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser on Liverpool
Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser made some eye-catching comments after a 3-0 loss at Liverpool on Saturday.
Sadio Mane broke the deadlock with a header for the Reds, before Georginio Wijnaldum scored with a super lob.
Mohamed Salah wrapped up the win with a third early in the second half.
After the match at Anfield, Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser admitted he wants Liverpool to win the league. As quoted in the Times, Fraser said:
I would like to see them win the league.
If Man City win it, Man City win it. I just like watching good football, and I like the way Liverpool play.
They’ve been waiting for it for a long time, and with the players they’ve got, they’ll do it, I think.
Steve Cook on Liverpool’s title chances
Fraser wasn’t the only Bournemouth player who got behind Liverpool.
Cherries defender Steve Cook also spoke about how Liverpool’s crowd are driving them to success:
You could see that the crowd were going to play a major part in the game. I haven’t quite heard an atmosphere like it today, especially when they scored.
The atmosphere here today was really good. The Liverpool fans got behind their team. I’m sure they’re going to play a huge part from now until the end of the season.
On this showing, it’s hard to see Liverpool dropping too many points again. But this is why everyone loves this league, because you never know what you’re going to get.
If they go on to win the league, I’m sure they’ll fully deserve to do it.
For the record, Liverpool are behind Man City on goal difference following the weekend’s round of results.
