Marouane Fellaini vs Matteo Guendouzi

Man United drew 2-2 with Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

One of the big talking points in the match was when Marouane Fellaini pulled Matteo Guendouzi’s hair.

Fellaini, now sporting a short haircut after he recently chopped off his afro, grabbed the flowing curly locks of Arsenal’s Guendouzi.

Guendouzi was dragged to the floor by the hair pull.

Yet, referee Andre Marriner failed to even book Fellaini for his bad behaviour.

Man United & Leicester

Back in May 2016, a similar incident happened in a Premier League match between Man United and Leicester.

Once again, Fellaini was caught up in that incident.

On that occasion, Leicester’s Robert Huth provoked Fellaini after the German pulled the Belgian’s hair.

Fellaini reacted badly, and he struck Huth with his elbow.

The FA responded to both acts of aggression by slapping a three game ban on both the Man United and Leicester players.

Ian Wright & Sheffield Wednesday’s Regi Blinker

Turning the clock even further back, Ian Wright once pulled the dreadlocks of Sheffield Wednesday winger Regi Blinker.

That incident happened back in 1996.

So what happened to the Arsenal striker?

Again the FA slapped Ian Wright with a three match ban for that hair pull.

Will Fellaini get a three match ban too?

If the FA follow precedent, Fellaini should be punished for pulling Guendouzi’s hair.
