Serie A champions Juventus have confirmed that defender Alex Sandro has put pen-to-paper on a new contract in Turin.

Juventus stint

Sandro, a Brazilian international left-back, has been on Juve’s books since the summer of 2015, when he joined the Italian giants from Porto for a fee of 26 million Euro.

And the seasons since have seen the 27-year-old go on to establish himself as one of world football’s best in his position.

All told, Sandro has racked up 134 appearances for the Bianconeri, notching 9 goals and 18 assists in the process, whilst proving a vital cog in the perennial-Serie A champions’ march to a trio of consecutive domestic doubles.

However, despite his integral role in Max Allegri’s stellar defensive unit, Sandro has nevertheless been heavily-linked with a move away from the Allianz Stadium for several years now.

The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG have all been named as keen admirers of the South American stopper’s talents, with all 3 even rumoured to have tabled big-money bids for Sandro over the last 18 months.
