Beautiful weather and excellent conditions at Indian Valley Country Club made for a successful second year for the Montgomery United Golf Outing. Golfers started at 12:30pm and played 18 holes of scramble best ball golf. Prizes were awarded for several categories and the results are as follows
Closest to the pin on all par-3 holes - winners all received golf clubs courtesy of Srixon or Indian Valley CC.
Winners were: Hole 4- Joe Sacchetti, Hole 6- Charlie Noti, Hole 11- Marc Arasse and Hole 16- Mike Gain.
Longest drive - Ladies: Joan Harvey, Mens: Al Quasti
Straightest Drive - Doug Johnson- he won a right-handed putter and he is left-handed (we will get him a lefty).
There was a 4 way tie for the best overall score, so we went to the scorecard tie breaker- best last 9 holes, then last 6 holes...
4th place - winning MonU sweatshirts: Al Quasti, Joe Magarity, Mike Manzo and Mark DiDonato
3rd place - winning tickets to the final Union home game: Joe Schoener, Dave Decker and Charles Noti
2nd place - winning Union playoff tickets: Kirby Martin, Bryan Schurmann, Renny Lajara and Tom Mullin
1st place - with a score of 68 and playing the best last 9 holes got a round of golf at Commonwealth CC: Brad Carlson, John Rosa-Bian, Tim McDermott and Jim Schreder.
The team with the lowest score that didn’t leave before the prizes were handed out won soccer bags and clipboards, maybe they should stick to just coaching. Those winners (non-winners) are: Mark Klemmer, John Goldberg, Doug Johnson and Bill Hartzell with a score of 79-many of us wish we could shoot a 79!
The team registering the most golkfers was Coach Mac's U17 Boys. The Laser Tag party (donated by PSC) was awared to the team who decided to donated the Laser tag party back to the club for use as a reward at a later function.
Thanks goes to Kirby Martin for organizing the golf outing and Indian Valley Country Club for putting on a first class event with excellent food. We have hopes of repeating this event again in the spring, so keep those clubs ready.
